Lab Reports v16.0
Last updated: August 18, 2026
Lab Reports v16.0 introduces a major redesign of the HbA1c workflow aligned with NICE guidance, new FIT test automation, support for processing multiple abnormal results within a single report, and several improvements to messaging and booking functionality.
What’s New
A quick video walkthrough of the new features
New FIT Test Report Automation
We have introduced a new FIT test report automation to support safe and efficient processing of normal FIT results based on your local laboratory reference ranges.
Features Include
Automatic processing of FIT tests within the normal range defined by the local laboratory
Filing comments for automated normal results will display as “Satisfactory result”
FIT tests outside the normal range will not be automated and will continue to require manual review.
Reports without a result value, or those requesting repeat testing, will be automatically skipped from processing.
HbA1c Workflow Redesign
The HbA1c workflow has been completely redesigned to provide greater flexibility, improved configurability, and closer alignment with both practice workflows and NICE guidance.
What’s New
Configurable diabetic patient pathways (NICE guidance) with individual HbA1c target ranges
Customisable criteria for patient stratification, including:
Moderate or severe frailty
Patients on hypoglycaemic medication
Newly diagnosed diabetes (within 2 years)
Diet-controlled diabetes or patients on ≤1 diabetic medication
Patients on >1 diabetic medication
Outcome Handling
Based on the configured criteria and target ranges, results can now be automatically processed into the following outcomes:
Diabetes within target
Diabetes not within target with an upcoming appointment
Diabetes not within target without an upcoming appointment (optional self-booking link available)
Fully Customisable Actions
For each outcome, practices can customise:
Patient messaging
SNOMED coding
Task creation and routing
Filing comments
Self booking link
All configuration settings can be managed directly within the consent form.
Multiple Abnormal Result Processing
The bot can now safely process multiple eligible abnormal results within a single report.
This enhancement allows the system to handle combinations such as:
Abnormal lipid or renal results
Abnormal HbA1c results
Abnormal custom range results, including CRP, ESR, or liver function tests
Practices can now configure up to 5 eligible abnormal result pathways to be processed within the same report where appropriate.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
Improved HbA1c Patient Messaging
Messages sent through diabetic workflows will now correctly include the patient’s HbA1c value at the beginning of the message content.
Self Booking Link Fix
Self-booking links will now correctly append to “Diabetes not within target” workflow messages where configured by the practice.
Reporting and Audit Enhancements
This release also introduces:
Additional audit visibility for new automation pathways
Expanded ROI tracking metrics
New configuration options to support greater practice-level flexibility.
